Spray Plane

At about 7:30 this evening I heard an airplane flying over my house. I ran outside to see what was going on.

Right away I could see it was a crop sprayer plane. See the spraying equipment mounted to it?

These planes fly over a field of corn or soybeans spraying chemicals to destroy bugs and other things that can damage the growing crop.

After turning a big circle in the sky, it swoops down on the field.

There he goes.

Flying over the crop at over 100 mph.

Within seconds he is back in the air ready for another run.

And I thought my riding lawnmower was fast. Everything is relative.

Thanks for stopping by.

Nice shots... a dangerous job for the pilot.

Did you run and hit the ground like Cary Grant in North by Northwest?

Don't see too many crop dusters out here anymore but I have seen them use helicopters over the berry crops.
Good shots. MB

Oh geez we had one flying like that by my Moms place and she ended up with parkinsons.and a few other neighbors died of brain tumors.
Be careful with the water.
Especially if you have a well.

Wow...! Those are great photos. They reminded me of the scene in North by Northwest.

We had the first night of our fireworks tonight (the USA...) and planes have been flying over my house all evening, and have just now stopped, so I can finally get some sleep. :-)

I guess that crop is not organic! At least they can no longer spray DDT.
