One Can of Tuna

This afternoon I decided to try and do something nice for my animals. I opened a can of tuna and took it to the barn. Here's Bailey finishing off his share.

I doubt there are many things in the world that Bailey relishes more than a tuna can.

He likes a tuna can like I like pizza. And we eat it about the same way.

Here is the Grand Dame. She was raised here as a kitten and is now about 14 years old.

Make no mistake. This is HER hay. Thank you very much. Now go away. Leave me alone. This is also MY barn!

Cody Pony doesn't like tuna. So I gave him some new hay and a new bag of sawdust. He rolled in it immediately.

Like the older cat, he prefers to eat alone. He was telling to get lost with that silly camera.

And let me introduce you to our NEW cat. This is Penney. She showed up a few weeks ago. Very, very pregnant. But she is not pregnant now.

She and her new kittens are doing just fine. Though a young cat, she seems to know how to be a mother. She is small and very polite.

When Bailey and I come into the barn at 4:30 in the morning, this little cat always shows up on her on perch. She and Bailey have become pretty good friends. Even the older cat seems to tolerate her - and that's saying a lot.

But, yes, Bailey's still #1. He knows he is the only animal that gets to live in the big house. And he knows it is time for him to get his real meal after this appetizer.

Thanks for stopping by. Maybe I should call this my monthly post...!

That's an impressive collection of critters you have there. The new mom looks like a baby herself. Good to see you posting.

Hi, Russell. It's been ages since I've been out and about all the way to Iowa. So good to see Bailey again. Your kitten is reminding me of a time back on the horse farm when the kids were younger and there was a pregnant young cat in the barn. She was very petite like this one and knew instinctively how to be a good mother to her babies. My sons and I would check daily on her progress and what fun it was when the babies were born. It was sad, too because so many people would drive by and dump cats off just because we were on a farm.

Take care!

Awwww...love the pics of your animals! That calico is beautiful and so is the new cat. But, of course, Bailey rules!

Omigoodness, Penney is beautiful...! I love her feathery tail. And look how daintily she is standing on that piece of wood. She is quite regal.

I can hardly wait to see her babies...!

Of course, Mr. Bailey is the official caretaker of all the animals. :-)

What a joy to see all the barn critters. We have 2 barn cats too. Niblet and Prisilla.
How is the red car running. Does it go faster because it is red?
So Bailey eats Tuna like you eat Pizza, eh. You mean you stick your whole face in it. hahaha!!!
How is class going? MB

I love your new kitty.
We used to have a cat with six digits.
Before long we saw many cats in our area with six digit paws.
The old boy was very busy lol
That tuna fish sounds delicious!
:)

I've fallen in love with all of your animals, but with Bailey in particular. I would never have thought of giving Jake the tuna can, but I'm sure he would equally love it!
