A Visit to McDonald's

Okay. I confess. I have been living under a rock too long.

I was at a McDonald's recently and realized I had not been to one for a long, long time. Apparently, a very long time.

I ordered a Big Mac sandwich. I remember when Big Mac's came in a box like this.

For a long time McDonald's used the styrofoam claim shell box for their sandwiches. I remember them the best.

In about 1990 McDonald's started getting away from the styrofoam and went to paper boxes.

For about the last two years the company has used this box.

At least there is one thing that will never, never change:

What? Oh .... well, uh, never mind!

Thanks for stopping by.

PS - Yes, I agree and forgot to mention. The Big Mac I had seemed much smaller than the ones I remember in the past! Hmmm....

*heh* Um ...

You're a goof. :-)

In Canada we have a thing called a McMini, and I actually like them. They're chicken burgers (teeny, tiny ones) and my favourite is pesto chicken. Mmmmm. But I don't eat them very often.

The only sandwich I ever liked from McDonalds was the Big Mac but that was when there was more meat and sauce. The last one I got was about 3 years ago and it was tasteless.

Hi Russell, good to hear from you. I am glad you like the images from my part of the country---pretty similar to Jo's area I imagine.

As for McDonalds I think the only thing I would get there would be an ice cream cone which I heard they made using yougurt. Whether that is true or not I really don't know. But for the price you get a huge and yummy vanilla cone.

Interesting post though. changes--from paper back to paper and from large to smaller. Hmmmmmmm......

See ya later, MB

Yes, it is smaller. I think they slowly shrunk down the size of the bun and then we weren't suppose to notice. It is like the cereal boxes that keep shrinking so they can keep their profit margin up there. I love the french fries and their dollar salads are really good.

Oh, don't remind me! We had a bad experience just last night at Mickey D's! We were in a hurry to get to a grandson's graduation, and just quickly grabbed supper.....bad idea! The mushroom and Swiss was very greasy and left a bad taste in my mouth. Or may be it was just because I've been eating gluten free for four months, so had the sandwich sans bun so there was nothing to soak up the grease!

Have a refreshing holiday weekend, hopefully without bad weather!

Haven't been to MacDonald's since my kids were small (in dog years that's 238!) You're a brave man!

Still chuckling over the phone comment :)

I have only one question. Would you like fries with that? ;)

It won't have effect in actual fact, that's what I suppose.
