24 Hours

Saturday morning it was a warm day. Temperatures were in the 40s and there was a very light rain. It felt like a spring day.

Water was flowing out of the rain spout.

But later in the morning the temperature dropped quickly into the 20s. The rain drops turned into snow.

Before long the rain spout looked like this.

When night came it brought winter with strong winds and blowing snow.

And by Sunday morning - only 24 hours later - winter had arrived.

But even with the cold temperatures and hard wind, there is still beauty.

Mother Nature has decorated the trees better than I ever could.

Thanks for stopping by.

Winter arrives with such beauty in your area. We're still waiting for our first significant snow fall here. Not at all impatiently, mind you. Nothing doing on the ground here but old leaves. That last image is just beautiful!

Russell, so good to hear from you. Thank you for your nice comments.

Your weather progression pics are great. We are having warm temps and tons of rain and even lowland flooding. The Pineapple Express they call it. Warm air from Hawaii racing across the Pacific Ocean bringing rain to Western Washington. It's here alright.

Remember to visit Barn on tricias blog on Tuesdays. You can access her blog from mine. I know you like barns--me too. MB

Oh my! Those trees are so beautiful. And we have survived yet another Iowa/Minnesota blizzard! Is it as cold at your place as it is here? It's all the way up to ONE now!

I'm going out for a walk to see if I can find some pretty sights to photograph. Best I bundle up!

As the winds blew wildly in the night, I wondered why we choose to live in Iowa. The morning brings a better view as you can see beauty all around you. Great story in photos.

Omigoodness, the snow where you live is beautiful...! It looks like icing sugar sprinkled over everything.

It just rains here ... and rains... :-)
