Fall Bailey

It's mid September and fall has arrived in Iowa. The compass flowers are in their glory but on the wane.

Upon closer inspection, you see the compass flowers are in their final days.

Asters are a true habringer of fall. They are prolific in the ditches and open prairie now. This is their time.

In Iowa, it is the corn that tells you fall is here. The fields have turned to brown and farmers are waiting for the breeze and wind to dry the corn.

Bailey knows.

But what do you do?

Walk across the lawn. Up the hill.

Keep walking. Still up the hill.

And smell the flowers.

Okay!

Then find a nice place to sit and just enjoy a nice fall day.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bailey is beautiful, but then I'm a sucker for a big good lookin' dog.

Happy September!!

Awwww.... whadda guy! Bailey is the world's best dawg. I hope you haven't told him he's really a dog. *heh*

I love the way his tail swishes when he walks.

And of course he loves to smell the flowers. Who doesn't?

Summer went by way too quickly, but I rather like this time of year.

Bailey is the wisest of them all. Rest--take it easy. What...me worry?

Is the corn dried for seed corn? Out here most of the corn is used for silage for dairy cows. Some sweet corn but mostly cow food.

You gotta love wildflowers no matter the season. Autumn's countryside is full of yellows and purples - just as you captured it. But what a feast for the eyes to see that gorgeous dog. He's a perfect beauty. Please give him a scratch behind the ears for me. :)

A flower-smellin' dog? I always knew Bailey had a sensitive side.

Love this season!!

Fall is my favorite time of year, and I just love these pictures. It makes me want to get on a plane, and take a walk down a country road and look at the corn fields smelling that fresh fall air.

Dogs really do know how to have a good time and enjoy themselves doing nothing at all !It is a shame we as people can't be that easygoing and relaved.I love the pictures and the fall of the year is just wonderful. Have a great day ! Doris
