A funny thing happened to Kansas on the way to their coronation. Someone forgot to tell the University of Northern Iowa that Kansas cannot be beat.
Kansas. The #1 basketball team in America. Maybe they might have a tough time with Kentucky. Duke could be formidable. Ohio State might put up a fight. But the University of where? Northern Iowa? C'mon! Let's get serious. Kansas is, well .... KANSAS. Everyone knows that.
UNI got its one win Thursday night. As a #9 seed they pulled an upset by beating the University of Las Vegas. Big deal. Fine. There you go. Now it's time for you to go home. Let the big boys play their game. Maybe you won't be too embarrassed after KANSAS gets done with you. But no promises. I mean, you are playing KANSAS.
But UNI game to play.
And play.
And play.
And play.
And win.
Much to the surprise of Kansas and the entire basketball world.
And the little engine that could, did.
Congratulations coach Ben Jacobson and your UNI Panthers.

Very surprised by the ending score of that game! Yea, Panthers! Would be fun if they could win again.
Of course our Gophers lost the first game. They shouldn't have even been there.
Don't you love it when that happens? The looks on their faces says it all.
Love the purple jerseys. :-)
